Cabbage Soup Diet Review

The Cabbage Soup Diet has been around a long time. Heck, I can clearly remember the smell in the refrigerator from when my mother would try this diet. It’s essentially a 7-day low calorie crash diet that involves eating unlimited amounts of cabbage soup as well as other allowable foods.

To do the Cabbage Soup Diet, you must first make the cabbage soup. Then, you can eat all the cabbage soup you want over the next week in addition to the foods mentioned below.

The Cabbage Soup Recipe

* 6 large green onions
* 2 green peppers
* 1 or 2 cans of tomatoes (diced or whole)
* about 10oz mushrooms (1 container)
* 3 carrots
* 1 bunch celery
* 1/2 head cabbage
* 1 package Lipton soup mix
* 1 or 2 cubes bullion (optional)
* 1 48oz can V8 juice (optional)
* season to taste with salt, pepper, parsley, garlic, curry, etc.

1. Slice the green onions.
2. Remove the seeds from the green pepper and chop into bite sized pieces.
3. Saute the onions and peppers in a large pot with some cooking spray.
4. Cut the cabbage, carrots, celery and mushrooms into bite-sized pieces and put them in the pot. Also add the can(s) of tomatoes.
5. Add 12 cups of water, [...] Continue Reading…

    “Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle” Diet Review

    Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle is an ebook written by bodybuilder, personal trainer, and nutritionist Tom Venuto. He claims that the proper way to lose weight is to burn the fat with exercise and feed the muscle with proper food choices.

    Most other weight loss books consist of half scientific jargon and half recipes that are compliant with the particular diet. Most people find it a bit confusing to understand the science behind the diet they’re following. And if the recipes included in the book don’t suit your taste, half the book is useless.

    Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle is different. It has over 300 pages of useful, easy to understand information, in downloadable ebook format.

    Throughout the book, Venuto explains:

    * The importance of setting goals.
    * Why other diets really fail.
    * How to determine how much you should be eating.
    * Why you should exercise.
    * What to do if your diet or exercise program is not working.
    * How to find what your goal weight should be.

    All of this is written in simple, layman’s terms so that it is very easy to understand. There are a lot of great little gems in there that’ll have you thinking “That’s so simple. Why didn’t [...] Continue Reading…

      Blood Type Diet Review

      Do you know your blood type? Well, according to Dr. Peter D’Adamo, creator of the blood type diet, each blood type has a specific type of eating style that is right for them.

      Want to know what to eat?

      * Type O people should eat a meat-rich diet.
      * Type A people should eat a diet free of red meat which emphasizes vegetables.
      * Type B people thrive on dairy products.
      * Type AB people should eat a balanced diet.

      Dr. D’Adamo and other followers of the Blood Type Diet believe that when you eat in a way that is conducive to your blood type, you will feel healthier and more alive.

      Does following this type of diet mean that Type O people should only eat meat products while type B people drink glass after glass of milk? No, that would be unreasonable. Of course you can eat sensibly from all of the food groups, but you should base your meals on the foods that work best for you. A full reading of the book Eat Right for Your Type can help you to determine what foods are recommended or to be avoided.

      While it may be true that this diet works from some people, it is [...] Continue Reading…

        Atkins Diet Review

        Perhaps no other diet is as controversial as the Atkins Diet. For years, doctors had been advising a high-carbohydrate/low-fat diet as the only way to lose weight. Along comes Dr. Atkins, claiming the complete opposite–low carbohydrate is the way to go. Atkins is not the only doctor with this idea but it seems that he was the first to bring it to such a wide audience.

        By now, of course, the Atkins Diet, and other low-carb diets are well known. Many people have followed them and had great success…as long as they stick to this type of diet for life.

        It would be impossible to fully explain here how the Atkins Diet works, so I suggest reading Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution. However, the basic idea is that the body’s first choice for energy is carbohydrates. When you eat a diet high in carbohydrates, your body has an almost endless supply of energy. The energy that it doesn’t use is easily stored as fat and it’s difficult to get your body to use stored fat as an energy source. By eating a diet low in carbohydrates, your body will not have its carbohydrate energy source and begin to use the fat [...] Continue Reading…

          ABS Diet Review

          The Abs Diet was created by David Zinczenko, who has written a book about the diet and is the editor-in-chief of Men’s Health Magazine. This diet is a healthy eating plan that encourages you to eat from a list of twelve “power” foods:

          * Almonds and other nuts
          * Beans and other legumes
          * Spinach and other green veggies
          * Dairy (fat-free/low fat)
          * Instant Oatmeal
          * Eggs
          * Turkey/lean meat
          * Peanut butter (all natural;limit to 3T per day max)
          * Olive Oil (Extra Virgin)
          * Whole grain bread/cereal
          * Extra (whey) protein powder
          * Raspberries and other berries

          (Note that the first letters of each of these foods spells out “ABS DIET POWER”, a clever way to get you to remember the foods.)

          The abs diet includes a list of other foods that can be eaten either often, occasionally, or rarely. As expected, fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins are included as foods you should eat often, whereas cookies and candy should be eaten rarely. No big surprise there.

          The diet claims that you will lose weight quickly and that it will come from your stomach fat first. It also contains an exercise component that will help you build muscle to gain a sleeker physique (and the washboard abs you’ve always wanted).

          This diet [...] Continue Reading…
