You are not alone as quite a high percentage of overweight people do find it incredibly difficult to lose weight.  So here is a simple weight loss plan that anyone can follow to start shedding some pounds.</p>
<p>There are always new fad diets or weight loss supplement being introduced but unfortunately many of them just don’t live up to what they claim.  They are very popular and many people will try them due to the miracle weight loss that they all promise but for most people it doesn’t pay off.  In fact some of the supplements that have been on the market in the past for weight loss have actually had quite serious side effects (please note that only some products have had serious side effects and most products have been perfectly safe).</p>
<p>The simple truth is that if you want to lose weight you need to have confidence in yourself and a bit of will power.  If you are really ready for the weight loss journey and know that it is not going to be easy but are ready to face it head on then here is a plan that can help you in your journey.  Just repeat this plan every day and you will be amazed at the difference it will make in your life.</p>
<p>First up, we want you to get out of bed a bit earlier every morning.  If you are not a morning person then this is going to be difficult at first but trust me you will grow accustomed to it and you are going to feel much better for it in the long term.  The first thing you should do when you get up in the morning is drink one glass of water.</p>
<p>Next you want to do some exercise.  I know what you are thinking; this is supposed to be a simple plan right?  You know good diet and exercise is the most simple and most effective way to lose weight so just trust me with this and once you have been doing it for a little while you will really start to enjoy it.  Your exercise doesn’t need to be anything strenuous; a 20 minute walk will be fine.</p>
<p>When you have finished your exercise then come back and have a healthy breakfast.  By eating a breakfast that is fiber rich with foods like fruits, vegetables and whole grains, these foods will speed up your metabolism and give you energy.</p>
<p>From breakfast until lunch make sure that you drink plenty of water.  It is very important for any adult to drink at least eight glasses of water a day.  If you are drinking the appropriate amount of water then you are not going to fill up on junk foods.</p>
<p>Eat a healthy lunch and once again between lunch and dinner time make sure that you drink plenty of water.  This is to ensure once again that you don’t eat too much as you will fill up on water.<br />
I know that you are probably thinking this is nothing new – exercise and a good diet.  This however really is the most effective way of losing weight.  If you can put a routine like this in place and change your eating habits so that your meals are healthy and nutritious and drink lots of water in between you will lose weight quickly and you will feel much healthier and have much more energy.</p>

<p>Weight Watchers offers two different plans&#8211;a &#8220;Flex Plan&#8221; and a &#8220;Core Plan&#8221;.</p>
<p>In the Flex Plan, each food is given a certain amount of points. You can eat any food that you want, as long as you stay within your point range. You will have a number of points per day as well as a few extra points per week which can be used any time you need them. Extra points can be earned by doing exercise. This allows you to eat any &#8220;bad foods&#8221; that you may be craving as long as you do it in moderation and stay within your points range.</p>
<p>In the Core Plan, the focus is on eating only healthy and nutritious food. By filling up on good-for-you foods, there is no room in your stomach for less than healthy &#8220;treats&#8221;. You cannot eat junk foods, but you don&#8217;t have to worry about counting the points.</p>
<p>Both of these plans are available either online or through meetings. If you decide to join online, you&#8217;ll have access to the WW members-only website. <p>Weight Watchers has been so successful because they focus on sensible eating plans that fit in with daily life. <p>The Zone is Dr. Barry Sears&#8217; word for the proper hormonal balance that occurs when you eat a diet based on the 40:30:30 ratio.</p>
<p>To properly do this diet, you must first determine the amount of protein that your body needs. Then you must eat exactly that amount every day, no more, no less. From that protein amount, you can figure out the amount of carbohydrates and fat that you need to eat by following the 40:30:30 ratio.</p>
<p>The Zone allows for a reasonable amount of carbs compared to other low carb diets. However, the carbs should be coming from fruits and vegetables, not from grains or sugars.</p>
<p>You must eat regularly throughout the day, even if you are not hungry. This will help you to stay mentally alert, as well as prevent any binging.</p>
<p>The Zone is a great diet for many people. It teaches you proper eating habits and the good feeling that comes from being in &#8220;the zone&#8221; helps to keep you motivated. Some people have even reported improvements in medical conditions after following the program.</p>

It&#8217;s a bit confusing because there are actually three different diets created by Stillman, but it&#8217;s best to do them one right after the other. The Stillman Diet is another low carb diet.</p>
<p>Interestingly, Dr. Stillman&#8217;s reasoning for the efficacy of low carb diets is a bit different than most other researchers. While others note the effect of carbohydrates on insulin levels and that without carbohydrates, the body turns to its fat for fuel, Dr. Sillman notes that it takes extra effort to burn off protein and says that with a diet high in protein, the &#8220;fires of metabolism&#8221; are raised and fat is &#8220;melted out&#8221; at a rapid rate.</p>
<p>The initial diet, the &#8220;Quick Weight Loss Diet&#8221;, is a highly ketogenic diet which is not recommended for an extended time. There is a list of 5 foods which are acceptable on this diet, and NO OTHER FOODS ARE ALLOWED. They are lean meats, chicken and turkey, lean fish and seafood, eggs, and non-fat cottage cheeses. There must be no fat used in preparation of any of these.</p>
<p>Next there is the &#8220;14 Day Shape Up Program&#8221;. During this, you eat foods which are high in protein and low in carbohydrates and fats. It&#8217;s similar to most other low carbohydrate diets.</p>
<p>After you have reached your goal weight, you can move on to the &#8220;Inches Off Diet&#8221;. Ironically, this is a low protein diet designed to remove the extra fat. You might stay the same weight, but the inches will start dropping off.</p>
<p>Each of the Stillman Diets are easy to follow. You simply eat the foods that are included on the list. There&#8217;s no need to count calories.</p>
<p>It is however, a bit restrictive and many people may have a hard time following the plan for the long term.</p>
<p>Stillman&#8217;s Diet is a fine low carbohydrate diet. If there&#8217;s something about it that you particularly like, then go ahead and start it. However, I believe that other low carb diets seem less restrictive and easier to incorporate into you lifestyle. Research your other options before making this commitment.</p>

<p>This diet can work, assuming that the foods you are eating are not all that healthy to begin with.</p>
<p>For example, if you usually swing by Starbucks on your way to work and grab a grande White Chocolate Mocha (470 calories; 18g fat) and a reduced fat muffin (380 calories; 8g fat) for breakfast and then go to McDonald&#8217;s for a cheeseburger (300 calories; 12g fat) and a medium fries (380 calories; 20g fat) for lunch, then it&#8217;s easy to see how switching to Special K can save you a lot of calories.</p>
<p>However, if your diet is already fairly healthy, then you probably won&#8217;t see much change.</p>
<p>The Special K Diet is certainly easy to understand and follow. It&#8217;s also easy and doesn&#8217;t require a lot of cooking or planning, which is great for people that are busy. It could be a good start if you currently eat a pretty unhealthy diet.</p>
<p>However, there&#8217;s certainly nothing special about Special K products, except for the fact that they are low calorie and get you into a &#8220;diet mentality&#8221; that causes you to think twice before eating unhealthy treats. In reality, you could do a similar thing with any healthy brand of cereal&#8230;and there are several cereals that I would choose over Special K. Special K cereal is low in fat and protein which means that it doesn&#8217;t leave you full for very long.</p>
<p>If you really like Special K and you are eating a lot of unhealthy foods, then you may want to use this diet to start off a healthy lifestyle. However, if you are already eating healthy, you probably won&#8217;t notice much of a difference and may want to consider other plans.</p>

After that, the number of carbs you are &#8220;allowed&#8221; is based on your lean body mass.</p>
<p>The book also contains a method for figuring out your body fat percentage, your lean body mass, and the amount of protein that your body requires. To help with meal planning, they have included charts listing ways that you can get that amount of protein as well as lists of the amounts of carbohydrates in common foods (conveniently broken up into 5g, 10g, 15g, 20g, and 35g servings depending on the level of carbs that you want to eat.)</p>

<p>There is a subtle difference between Protein Power and other low carb diets. Most low carb diets focus on counting the carbs and making sure that you do not eat many of them. The focus in Protein Power, however, is more about making sure you eat enough protein. Sure, they do limit the carbs and you are still supposed to watch the carbs that you eat. But the focus of the diet is slightly different.</p>
<p>The Protein Power Diet is great for meat-lovers, but it&#8217;s also adaptable to a vegetarian diet. While it&#8217;s certainly never easy to be a vegetarian following a low carb diet, the slightly higher carb allowances help you to incorporate proteins from dairy products.</p>
<p>The Protein Diet should not be treated as just a diet to lose weight. It represents a lifestyle change. You should plan on eating in a similar fashion for the rest of you life. Fortunately, it is a healthy plan.</p>
